As the transition to a resource-based economy requires a high level of integrated technology, our long-term plan is develop a research centre for appropriate technology that will develop enabling science and technology across numerous fields (agriculture, infrastructure, energy, health, education, etc.). The campus community being developed in parallel will act as a test-bed for these technologies, while being a creative space for the residing and visiting scientists, engineers, and volunteers to interact and innovate.

In 2017, Kadagaya was registered as a non-profit association in Peru and in 2019 we hope to finalize the paperwork and rebrand ourselves as a research centre. This will involve a shift in focus to attracting other researchers with similar interests and increasing our visibility and reputation as a research centre by publishing in scientific journals. In addition, we are now structuring our development in the form of research projects, meaning that we will invest more time and resources into methodological study that allows us to deeply understand the technology and systems we develop, so we can share this knoweldge in the best way possible.
