After more than a year of construction work on our hydroelectric plant we were finally able to open the gate and see a vortex! Thanks to the many people who helped with digging, breaking some mother rocks, and pouring tonnes of cement! It is a big relief to see everything flowing as it should. Now on to the fun stuff; building the turbine and generator.

Now with the most difficult part of the project behind us we will start constructing a basic turbine to test the power generation. We need to measure how much energy we are able to produce in order to size the generator and power system.
